知识生态理论视角下的隐性知识转移机理及模式研究

Chapter One Introduction

1.1 Research Background
Recently, knowledge resource is becoming the core competency of corporations bygradually replacing the traditional material resources. Knowledge has become one ofthe biggest concerns of corporates. We are entering into the so-called knowledgeeconomy age. Drucker (1999) points out in his work that today’s world isexperiencing the third industrial revolution, with the motive power of not steamengine or power, but knowledge. Knowledge plays a crucial role in the production andlife of human society as well as the development of corporations. With the emergenceof knowledge economy, the technological innovative ability has become the key forthe survival and development of corporations, and only the knowledge-basedcorporations can keep the core competitiveness in this era. The research anddevelopment team (hereafter referred to as R&D team) provides the corporation withtechnological support and intellectual capital and plays a very important role in theprocess of corporate technology innovation. Tacit knowledge is the basis oftechnological innovation of the corporate R&D team. To find the way for thecorporate R&D team to acquire, create, transfer and apply tacit knowledge is the keyto improving the innovative ability of corporations.The knowledge needed during the research and development of corporations notonly includes explicit knowledge, but also the tacit knowledge hidden in the minds ofteam members. The tacit knowledge is hard to articulate, including concepts, feelings,experiences, practices, values and faith, etc. Compared with explicit knowledge, tacitknowledge is hard to imitated and copied by competitors, which is often regarded asthe core advantage of corporations. By means of effective tacit knowledge transferbetween team members, innovative ideas and solutions are generated, thus theresearch and development work will be accomplished. The R&D team unceasinglyperfects its knowledge system and improves the knowledge stock and thetechnological innovative ability through tacit knowledge transfer, which is critical forimproving the efficiency and the profit of the R&D team. The effective tacitknowledge transfer of the R&D team is the source of strengthening corporateinnovative ability and has been an important means for corporations to maintain corecompetitiveness. To reinforce tacit knowledge management of the R&D team hasbecome a new topic for corporate development.

1.2 Research Purpose and Significance

1.2.1 Research Purpose
By integrating the knowledge ecological system theory with the tacit knowledgetransfer of corporate R&D team and analyzing the operating mechanism of the tacitknowledge transfer of corporate R&D team, the purpose of this research is to find outthe influencing factors for the tacit knowledge transfer performance of corporationsfrom the aspect of the knowledge ecological system, to provide practical Referencesand suggestions on the tacit knowledge transfer management of corporate R&D team,and to optimize the construction of the knowledge ecological system for the corporateR&D team.

1.2.2 Research Significance
By utilizing theories and methods of knowledge ecology and management in acomprehensive way, this article mainly conducts research on the operating mechanismof the tacit knowledge transfer of the R&D team. It discusses th e tacit knowledgetransfer of corporate R&D team from theoretical and practical aspects, which not onlydeepens the research in related fields such as knowledge ecological theory and tacit knowledge transfer of corporate R&D team, but also has great significance in theapplied research of knowledge ecological system theory and the optimization of thetacit knowledge management of corporate R&D team.
